First week of Kindergarten

What a fun but busy first week of Kindergarten!! We have been learning school rules and expectations. We have been learning all about the different activities and games we have in our room.  Tuesday we had an all school assembly to kick off our school year! Our theme this year is "celebrate"! Friday was the first day for library check-out. As soon as you finish reading the book, send it back to school so your child can get another one. Everyone is doing such a good job learning each other's names, routines and rules. I think it's going to be a great year!

Walk-a-thon

It was a bit chilly but we had a fun time! Thanks to all the parents and grandparents that came with us!

Tomorrow is our walk-a-thon!! 
Please remember:

1. Send a sack lunch with your child
   
2. Make sure your child is dressed for the weather
   
3. Make sure your child is wearing socks and tennis shoes. 
   

Cinco de mayo

Today is Cinco de mayo! We read some fun stories today and had some special visitors. The Spanish class from the high school came for a visit and taught us many different Spanish words. One group of students learned different nature words and the other group learned animal names. What a fun lesson! See if you child remembers any words they learned.

Earth Day

Yesterday was Earth Day! We talked about many different ways to help take care of our planet. Students wrote an Earth Day promise and finished the project off with their hand print!

Valentine's Day Party

Just a reminder when you finish decorating the Valentine Boxes, send them to school and I'll keep them here for our party this Friday! Have fun decotating them and be creative :)
